The Biggest Mistakes Contractors Make With Their Website
Contractor website consultant Aaron O’Hanlon of Footbridge Media will be our guest in a fun and informative teleconference designed to help you avoid the ten biggest mistakes that contractors make when building their websites.
Has the internet become the new yellow pages? For many contractors the internet has already surpassed the yellow pages as their prime source for service calls and sales leads.
Listen in tonight and find out what makes the difference between a site that generates over 50 calls per week and one that is a ‘dud’ that sits in dead silence generating no business.
Aaron has helped hundreds in the service contracting industry build, host, design, and optimize their website so that even small businesses can be catapulted into the top position in their market using his proprietary optimization and marketing methods.
If you are wasting thousands of dollars on marketing that does not work this will be a great evening for you. Do you already have enough leads? Call in and listen if you could use more.
Teleseminar starts at 8PM EST, 7PM CST, 6MST, 5PST

Sales Tip: Using Responsibilty As A Tactic
January 17, 2007 by Aaron O'Hanlon · Leave a Comment
As you probably already know, people buy with emotion and then justify their purchase intellectually. Therefore it is essential to understand that to be successful in persuading people to buy your services, you must create emotion in people as you are trying to persuade them.
Think of a customer who was behaving very detached and un-emotional as you made your presentation. Usually you will remember that this detachment turned into an excellent defense mechanism for them later when you tried to close the sale. Your job then, is to not only create this emotion in people but also know how to control it.
You must be ready when an emotional situation arises and be able to handle it by not reacting emotionally yourself. On the contrary, it is your responsibility to respond in an intellectual fashion that comforts the prospect.
Knowing that these situations occur both accidentally, when your customer is emotional for no apparent reason, and on purpose, when you stir them, is the key to your preparation.
Let look at a few situations where you can use taking responsibility as a tactic.
CUSTOMER IS EMOTIONAL WITHOUT WARNING
YOU: What inspired you to call us out here today?
THEM: Don’t you know what you’re here for? Doesn’t your company communicate with you?
YOU: (Taking a step back) Boy it sounds like you’re really upset about something. What did I do to get you so angry? (Taking responsibility)
THEM: No Jim, it’s not you. (Rescuing the tech) It’s just that I’ve been waiting all day for service. I scheduled this call for 9 a.m. and now it’s three in the afternoon. I took off work today because I thought you were coming this morning. I could have gone to work and still been here at three to meet you. So I feel like my whole day has been wasted.
YOU: Hey listen, I can understand you being so upset. In fact if I were you I probably would be so mad I wouldn’t want to continue. Let me ask you something. Are you too upset to go on with this call today?
THEM? No, I’m fine now. I just needed to get it off my chest. (Harmony)
Remember, your ego is NOT your amigo! Whenever anything is going wrong during your call it is okay to take responsibility to succeed.
